Parlodel is a prescription medicine that contains bromocriptine, a dopamine agonist used to treat several hormonal and neurological conditions. It is commonly used to lower high levels of prolactin (hyperprolactinaemia), which can cause infertility, irregular menstrual cycles, and unwanted breast milk production. It may also be used in conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and, in some cases, to help shrink certain pituitary tumours.
