Galvus Met Tablets is an oral blood-glucose-lowering medication containing a combination of two active ingredients: Vildagliptin (50 mg) and Metformin HCl (500 mg). It is used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

As a combination therapy, it works through two mechanisms: Vildagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, increases the levels of natural substances (incretins) that stimulate insulin release and reduce sugar production by the liver. Metformin HCl further assists by improving the body’s sensitivity to insulin and reducing the amount of sugar absorbed by the intestines.

This film-coated tablet formulation is designed to be used in addition to a proper diet and exercise regimen to effectively manage and stabilize blood sugar levels throughout the day.
