Loxagyl contains metronidazole, an antimicrobial medicine used to treat certain infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria and specific parasites. It is prescribed for conditions such as amoebiasis, giardiasis and certain bacterial infections, depending on the diagnosis.
