Sure, you can stop eating fast food, eliminate dairy, gluten and all things delicious for the love of clear skin—but, seriously, who wants to live like that? Not me!

I’m not saying you shouldn’t aim for optimum health— staying active and exercising is the surest way to looking good and feeling great from head to toe,

But, what about feeling great from the inside out?

My career as a skin therapist transcends over 10 years of experience, so you can say I’ve seen it all. I’ve treated people with all types of skin ailments from Rosacea, Premature Aging, Psoriasis, Eczema, and minor to severe Acne. Many people seek a temporary fix hoping for lasting results. They revert to using topical anti-aging creams, vigorous skin peels, Retin-A or in more extreme cases, trying a long course of Accutane or Antibiotics that could potentially destroy your gut microbiome resulting in yeast infections, viruses, and influenza symptoms. Skin ailments have no age limit — it’s an equal opportunity lender and could care less about how long you’ve been walking this great earth. It will invade your personal space at any given moment, without warning.

Most skin issues are not superficial. It stems from a hormonal imbalance, which is the most common cause of adult acne. A depleted gut and deficiency in micronutrients can lead to an epic hormonal imbalance, thus causing unwanted skin issues. Natural supplements are a powerful way to speed up the healing and recovery process and aids in the protection of the overall health of our largest organ, our skin.

Here are my favorite ...

If you are deficient in magnesium, it’s very likely you are experiencing some form of inflammation. Taking magnesium in combination with Vitamin C can improve their absorption and reduce the plasma reaction of C-Reactive protein in the body, which is the leading cause of inflammation.

My mother used to serve me a spoonful of Cod Liver Oil every day as a child and called it “Golden Juice”. I thank her now for it but as you can imagine, I didn’t fancy it at the time. Fermented cod liver oil is preferable to refine because it contains the full complement of vitamins and Omega-3 fatty acids. It incorporates structural molecules and restores the natural pH of the skin. The results of clear and radiant skin can be seen within a few days.

Zinc is the second most important mineral in human biology and it is found in all classes of enzymes produced in humans. When we lack this essential element, specifically in women,  the skin becomes irritated by the bacteria that lingers within the pores which results in a red, itchy, rugged texture. Zinc helps preserve the sebaceous glands, keeps the production of sebum to normal levels and should be combined with Vitamin A to boost absorption and clear body of any excess hormones.

Vitamin E is one of the most highly efficient antioxidants responsible for sweeping up reactive oxygen produced from fat metabolism. It promotes tissue regeneration which is imperative for repairing wounds. Vitamin E stabilizes the protective barrier of the skin, preventing inflammatory responses to immune cells.

Incorporating these supplements with healthy lifestyle choices and a gentle skin regimen is a sure way to welcome radiant, supple, vibrant skin. Soon enough, your blemishes will be a thing of the past.
